Opening Reception 10/04/2018 6-9pm

Four Hands Art Studio Gallery: 4401 Freidrich Lane Bldg. 2 Suite 200

Happy Hour + Live Music

Based in Austin, Texas, Caitlin G. McCollom is an artist who is compelled to visually express the unknowable span of consciousness, and the beauty and wonder of encounters with the spiritual realm. Her use of water-resistant synthetic paper and high-flow acrylic, that ripples and puddles, results in an intentionally unique, three-dimensional piece. Caitlin created a collection of 29 original paintings exclusively for Wonderwall Studio and left it up to us, the framing experts, to construct imaginative, one-of-a-kind art presentations in our design studio. Visitors can expect to see her signature use of red and blue, combined with the symbolism of the colliding physical and spiritual realms, but in all new shapes and forms. “Spirit Room” will feature Caitlin’s original pieces displayed in unique acrylic frame options alongside prints on silver mylar, acrylic, wood and metal. The exhibition will be a beautiful juxtaposition between the original pieces and prints on unique substrates.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask the artist! Caitlin G. McCollom will be in attendance during the Opening Reception Thursday, October 4th 6-9pm.

Please RSVP

About the Artist:

Caitlin G McCollom is a visual artist whose conceptual paintings are focused on notions of metaphysical searching. Working with high-flow acrylic paint, polypropylene paper and a paintbrush, Caitlin visually expresses encounters with the unknown at the moment they are experienced. She uses shapes that include orbs, rectangles, teardrops and hearts to represent the moon and channels for understanding spirituality, windows into the spiritual realm, the experience of suffering or crying tears of joy, and the feelings of the heart, respectively, and vibrant colors to create modern icons that connect the visible and invisible world.

Caitlin graduated in 2010 from Texas State University with a Bachelor’s of Fine Art in Studio Art Painting, with a focus on Art History. Previously, she worked as an acclaimed curator for Red Space Gallery as well as various independent projects, and was also a regional Texas art critic which now informs her full-time studio practice.

Caitlin is an internationally exhibiting artist and she has been featured in national print and digital publications including Marie Claire, Vogue, Austin Woman Magazine, Glasstire, Tribeza, The Austin Chronicle, Persona Literary Journal and Les Femme Folles, a catalog of women artists in the United States. Currently, her work is held internationally with prominent private collectors and the corporate collections of Kendra Scott, The Hilton Worldwide, The Cosmopolitan Las Vegas, The Rabboni Institute for Learning and Healing, and Angelo State University.
